Zoom Lessons and Mentorship

“Our chief want in life is somebody who will make us do what we can.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

When Tony Slydini took me on as a student in 1973, I never imagined having a career in magic that has not only lasted, but flourished for over 50 years. Being the only person ever given permission to lecture or teach his magic is something that I take with great pride and very seriously.

I have taught countless students; from the expert magician to the beginner. From the tremendously accomplished, to the performer looking to find his way in magic.

I am thrilled to now make myself available for personal lessons as well as mentorship on a broader level than before. If you have interest, please send payment through Paypal and I will reach out within 24 hours with next steps. It would be an honor to serve you in your magic career, wherever you may be and my promise to you is to always teach you with the same passion, love and joy that my teacher, mentor and friend, Tony Slydini gave to me. I look forward to hearing from you. - Bill

Zoom Lessons
$100 USD/HR via Zoom

The principle route of instruction in magic is the "magic lesson". In 1973, I began driving an hour and a half into New York City each way to study with Tony Slydini and Max Londono. Sometimes, both on the same day!

The cost for one hour is $100 USD. I accept Paypal. Please click on the link above to send payment. Once I receive payment, I will email you within 24 hours to setup a mutually convenient time for our Zoom lesson.

My lesson format is simple: bring me anything you'd like to work on and let's go through it together. In my initial email, I will ask the student to tell me about what they are looking for during the lesson. The lesson content is up to you. Whether you are a beginner or advanced magician, I can help you with sleights, misdirection, spectator management, building an act, building an effect, character development, how to best practice your magic, and countless other topics.

It will also be necessary for the student to sign and email me a completed NDA form before we schedule our lesson. This is to protect both the student and myself. In addition screen recording or videotaping of any kind is strictly prohibited. No exceptions. Please note: If you book a lesson and do not show at the scheduled time you’ll be charged full price with no refunds.

Finally, at this time I am reserving the specific teaching of any specific Slydini effects and routines to mentorships only. We can discuss any other aspect of magic you like; but as you are most likely aware, Slydini's routines require much more in-depth teaching and insight into the psychology and misdirection of magic. Therefore, I would not be doing justice to Slydini's effects and routines if I did not ensure the student is both serious about learning the effect as well as is willing to put in the necessary time and energy to properly learn the routines.

Mentorship

Mentorship, by definition, is "a period of time during which a person receives guidance from a mentor."

Over the years, countless magicians have inquired about both mentorship opportunities, as well as the opportunity to really learn magic and misdirection and any specific Slydini routines that the student has interest in learning.

At this time, I am only considering a student for mentorship if he/she has taken at least one lesson prior to entering into mentorship. Therefore, if you have interest in mentorship, please purchase a 1 hour Zoom Lesson in order to be considered for mentorship.

Having this one lesson initial requirement gives both the student and myself a session to set expectations and begin to learn more about each other, which I find is extremely important to the student's success in learning more advanced concepts of magic. This is also where I can begin to teach the student, and set expectations (both in cost as well as time) for learning the many Slydini routines that many students have interest in learning.

These routines include:

- Slydini's Knotted Scarves Routine

- Slydini's Paper Balls Over the Head

- Slydini's Paper Balls to the Box

- Slydini's Coins Through the Table

- Slydini's Helicopter Card

- and countless other Slydini effects.

For cost and further details, please book a 1 hour lesson. Additional details will be provided after the lesson if the student has interest in mentorship or a specific Slydini routine.
